The VanCabin T5T6CABIN(2) rear tent is designed for Volkswagen T5 and T6 camper vans with barn doors. It uses the vehicle’s rear doors as the main support structure, eliminating the need for complex poles and making installation quick and easy.

The innovative design allows the rear tent to be fitted even when a bike rack is mounted on the vehicle.

A practical feature is the integrated separation panel between the tent and the vehicle. The panel can be opened or closed depending on how you want to use the space. When closed, the tent can function as a separate room, for example as a shower room, changing room or toilet. When open, it creates an extension of the camper van and provides direct access to the vehicle interior, regardless of the interior configuration.

The large front entrance features a mosquito net, ensuring excellent ventilation while allowing visibility into the van when the separation panel is open.

The front door can also be transformed into a practical awning using the eyelets along its lower edge and suitable camping poles. This provides additional protection from the sun or rain and creates extra sheltered living space.

Vertical Velcro fasteners on both sides allow the tent to be secured to the frame around the rear compartment of the camper van. Velcro for attachment inside the vehicle is not included, allowing you to choose a suitable type and colour according to the interior of your camper van.

The included fiberglass rods form a frame along the bottom of the tent, helping it maintain its shape even in windy conditions. This is particularly useful when camping on hard ground where tent pegs cannot easily be driven into the ground.

Four metal tent pegs are also included for use on softer ground.

The roof is designed to accommodate two additional rods that increase the usable interior height. This makes the tent suitable for storing larger items such as surfboards, skis and other bulky equipment. The increased height also allows you to hang a shower or camping lamp inside the tent.

Mounting

First, hang the tent over both rear doors using the side flaps. Elastic straps secure the sides of the tent to the lower part of the doors.

The connection between the roof of the rear tent and the vehicle includes an additional elastic strap that overlaps the upper part of the tent onto the vehicle frame. Two hooks secure it to the door hinges.

The cross-shaped roof rods complete the structure and create a spacious interior with generous usable volume.

The fiberglass rods and tent pegs are particularly useful in windy conditions. The lower part of the tent features a sleeve for inserting the rods. Four rubber anchor straps and the included pegs secure the tent to the ground.
